Calabro Mascarpone is an artisanal, creamy cheese that exemplifies the luxury of Italian dairy craftsmanship. This results in a thick, velvety texture that is prized for its rich, subtly tangy flavor. Unlike cheeses that benefit from extended aging, mascarpone is intended to be enjoyed fresh.
Calabro's story begins in the mountains of Sicily, where the Calabro family turned fresh milk into their signature cheeses. In 1948, they left Sicily to start new lives in America. By 1953, the family had founded the Calabro brand, delivering cheese, sausage, and ice cream to Italian grocers and families in Connecticut. Today, Calabro has grown their operations, distributing their cheeses to 27 states in the US.
