Grape leaves encase an antique linen-hued paste with toile-style bluing, a fudgy and rich with calcium lactate crystals that develop with age. The taste of pear brandy, vanilla, toffee, truffle, and fig, with pronounced “blue” flavor needs no accompaniment, Rogue River Blue shines spectacularly when on its own or with a simple fruit compote, salad, or meats. It lifts cuisine to new heights.
Rogue Creamery, founded in 1933, as the Rogue River Valley Co-op, created to support local dairy farmers during the Great Depression. Original founder Gaetano “Tom” Vella was inspired by European cheese-making techniques, particularly from Roquefort, France, which influenced the production of Oregon Blue cheese in 1957. Over the decades, the company has retained its commitment to artisanal production methods. Rogue Creamery has received more than 40 awards at national and international cheese competitions, solidifying its reputation as a leader in the cheese industry.
