Carr Valley Cheese Company is over one-hundred years old, established in 1902. Nestled among the rolling hills and lush pastures of central Wisconsin, they remain one of Wisconsin's traditional cheese plants, known for making cheese the old-fashioned way! Owned and operated by the Cook family, Carr Valley Cheese reflects a heritage of four generations of cheesemakers who have continued to practice the art of cheesemaking (the traditional way) since the late 1880s. As a company, Carr Valley has won over 400 national and international awards for their cheeses.
Sid Cook, owner of Carr Valley Cheese and certified Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker, is a fourth-generation cheesemaker, known for his one-of-a-kind, award winning American original cheeses. He has taken home more national and international awards, more than any other cheesemaker in North America.
Sid completed his Master Cheesemaking Certification in Cheddar, Fontina, Gran Canaria, and Mixed-Milk Cheeses. His goal is to produce high-quality cheese with outstanding flavor, and we think you'll agree - he has achieved above and beyond this goal.
